The Epiphany of our Lord is celebrated on 6 January.

The word Epiphany means a sudden or great realization or revelation and it is celebrated as the first appearance of Christ to the Gentiles, when the Magi (Wise men) came to worship him.  In the Lutheran church, this season runs from the day of Epiphany until Ash Wednesday and includes the baptism of Jesus.

Queensland Christian Convention Association: (QCCA)

Darling Downs Christian Women’s group joined QCCA last year.  DDCW are hosting their Convention on Saturday March 22nd at Christlife Presbyterian Church, 9am – 3pm (492 South St, Glenvale).  Early registration closes 24th Feb ($40), Regular registration closes 14th Mar ($48), includes morning tea and lunch.  Online registration only.  For more information please email: contact@ddcwc.org.au

  • for the church, that it may be faithful to the tradition which it has received from the apostles

  • for all members of our congregation, that we might be fishers of people

  • for those who are called to serve as prophets in our land today, that they may be faithful to their calling even if their message is not welcome

  • for all who are burdened by guilt and sin, that they may know the forgiveness of Christ

  • for all people, that they may be diligent in their proper vocation

  • for those who are seeking employment, and for those who are preparing to enter the work force

  • for the fishing industry, that it may use the resources of the sea wisely

  • for those who are sick or dying, that they may know the presence of the Lord.
