To Our Church Family from the Chair:

This year St Marks will have been Worshipping at the corner of Condamine and Archibald Sts for 50 years!! There will be a celebration of this milestone – but how will we celebrate and what will we do to recognize this anniversary?

Here is your opportunity – we need an energetic group of volunteers to plan, organize, guide and make this a terrific celebration.

If you wish to be involved from gardening, cleaning buildings, planning, organizing, stuff we haven’t even thought of, please attend the initial meeting after service 30 April 2023 or let the Chair know of your interest!! There’s lots to do – not that we know what it is, YET – and we don’t have long to do it – let’s do this together!!

Synod Delegate:

Are you wishing to volunteer and represent St Marks Dalby at the LCAQD Convention of Synod, 2-4 June 2023? Please contact the Chair with your positive response ASAP.

Dalby Circles of Care:

St Mark’s will be providing “Meals for the Homeless” on Thursday 4 May. Please contact Murray Paschke to assist in this Community Project.”

Parish Council update:

· A covenant has been developed for shared worship between the Anglicans & Lutherans at Charleville

· St George preaching place have identified & Parish Council have endorsed a candidate to Bishop Vainikka for SMP training

· LCAQD have informed PC that preaching places are not covered for public liability, The solution is for each preaching place to make a connection to a SWQLP congregation and become an activity of that congregation. There will be no extra cost for the congregation.

· Easter service was well supported at St George with Pr Ken von Pein reporting attendance well beyond the Lutheran community.

· Pr Joel has reached the 3 year milestone with the DMA & has asked the congregations he serves for a Pastoral review.

· How to best meet the ministry needs of the Charleville Lutheran community has been a subject of a lot of correspondence with LCAQD.

KYB Coffee & Dessert Night:

Debbie Weber and Rosemarie Green bring the CWCI Safari Ministry to our area on Thursday 11th May @ 7.30pm at the Frank Knight room @ St John’s Anglican Church, Cunningham St, Dalby. There will be a donation box and food provided. For more details, please contact Kerry Gibson on 0419 773 260. (A range of books, bibles and cards will be available for purchase.)

Prayer Points for the Week:

· For those in authority, such as King Charles and his representatives; Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and members of parliament; Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and state parliamentarians; Mayor Paul McVeigh and local councillors;

· For the Church, LCAQD; that we may obey your laws from the heart

· For the pastors Bishop Paul Smith, District Bishop Mark Vainikka; Pastor Joel Pukallus and all pastors; that they may exercise the ministry of forgiveness with compassion

· For the hungry and the starving throughout the world

· For those who hunger and thirst for righteousness and peace

· For farmers who struggle to make a living producing food for others

· For the sick and the dying, who hunger for health

· For those who hunger for understanding, that God's word may be revealed to them
