LCA Story of the Week:

It’s hard to go past a friendly smile greeting you before Sunday worship, or that warm cup of tea or coffee after service. Isn’t that what makes our faith communities welcoming? For many years, among the hundreds of folks who volunteer to ensure a warm welcome and hot cuppa for worshippers has been nonagenarian couple Grace and Les Dodt.

LCA Missionary Time-Line:

This timeline is a thank you and acknowledgement to the people from Lutheran Churches in Australia who served in mission overseas. The countless stories tell of the joys of serving and the many blessings our overseas brothers and sisters gave to us. The timeline is a work in progress. Contact LCA International Mission if you would like to contribute.

Young Adults home group:

Who: young adults aged 17 (finished high school) -30ish

What: dinner, discipleship, fellowship

When: Every Tuesday night @6:30pm

Where: various locations across Dalby

Why: "To provide a safe and Godly community giving the chance to provide authentic fellowship and deep conversations, with the bonus of food"

Acts 2:42 [NIV] - They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

We would love it if our hosts could commit to hosting us approximately once every month/two months. This involves having us to their house and making dinner for the group. The use of a tv is bonus 👍🏻 We will organise our own study, and they are welcome to join in if they like- we always appreciate the wisdom our older congregation members have to offer. Special thanks to those who have already graciously hosted us: Megan James, Kaylene & Murray, Barb & Keith, Des & Val, Jamie & Mezzie. We really appreciate it! Thank you!! If you wish to host the Young Adult group, please contact Nadine!

C.H.A.O.S:

With C.H.A.O.S youth ministry booming this last term, we are looking for people to join the ‘Youth Support Team’ (Y.S.T.) that will come to a youth night once a Term (possibly one or two adults per night). To be an extra adult leader, you will need a blue card; if not, please see the blue card website for more information www.bluecard.qld.gov.au. You have the opportunity to support and care for our leaders who connect and lead these young people while giving up their time and energy to plan these events. Sharing your experience, knowledge, advice, and support with mainly our leaders but also with the kids. Would you please talk with or email Aimee Johnson if you have any questions or need more information? Phone: 0409 906 567 Email aimee.johnson@lca.org.au

· For those in authority, such as Queen Elizabeth and her representatives; Prime Minister Scott Morrison and members of parliament; Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and state parliamentarians; and Mayor Paul McVeigh and local councillors; that they may act wisely.

· For the Church, LCAQD; that all its members declare the message of the gospel with boldness

· For the pastors Bishop John Henderson, District Bishop Mark Vainikka; Pastor Joel Pukallus and all pastors; that all may hear and believe that Jesus is the Christ, the holy one of God

· For world leaders who are Christians, that they may stand strong in the faith against the efforts of the evil one

· For Christians in government in Australia, that they may live out their faith

· That people may not be led astray by the deception of sects and religious movements that seek to draw people away from the truth in Christ

· For people trapped into believing that their own reasoning will get them into heaven
