LCA Story of the Week:

The Bible is God’s love story to us. But how can we share his love story with people who haven’t heard it? For Les John, it’s as simple as listening to God. He’s always felt guided by God’s hand to help others.

Delicious and Delightful:

As a part of our continuing support for our wider community, our church would like to participate in our annual ‘Delicious and Delightful’ festival to be held on Saturday 27 August. After consulting with the ‘Delicious and Delightful’ committee, it is thought that we could run the children’s activity tent. As we haven’t had our usual Holiday Fun Time, we are hoping we could put our talents and resources into this event. We are looking for volunteers to:

· organize activities for in the tent

· supervise activities on the day

· sell tickets for jumping castle

The activities for the children will be craft related. The tent will be running from 12 midday through to approximately 6pm. We will have a rooster set up so even if you have one hour to spare, it will be greatly appreciated. Or maybe help prior to the event by organizing craft activities. It is thought that we could either wear our blue St Mark’s shirts or our HFT blue shirts (with something underneath them for winter!) We also need a few people to help coordinate this. Anyone interested in helping, please see Lois Strand or Cameron Brauer.

Prayers for the Week:

· For those in authority, such as Queen Elizabeth and her representatives; Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and members of parliament; Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and state parliamentarians; and Mayor Paul McVeigh and local councillors; for the nations of the world, that they may receive the blessing of peace

· For the Church, LCAQD; that it would seek out and save those who have been harmed or abused by the world

· For the pastors Bishop Paul smith, District Bishop Mark Vainikka; Pastor Joel Pukallus and all pastors; that they may preach the word of God

· For those who are afraid to help people in need

· For those who commit violence against other human beings, that they would repent and seek to repair the damage they have done

· For doctors and nurses and all others in healing professions

· For community housing projects and all who work to provide housing for the poor

· For those who are strangers and refugees in our country, especially new or illegal immigrants

· For those who are dying in loneliness, that God would send someone to sit beside them in their last hours
